STATE COLLEGE, PA (01/13/23) – For the third consecutive year, Nittany MinitMart participated in Breast Cancer Awareness month in October, fundraising at its locations to support Relay for Life. A total of $12,113.74 was raised at its 27 locations throughout Pennsylvania. All money collected will stay in the local area to help with driving patients to treatment and medical appointments.
“As a cancer survivor myself, this hits home for me,” said Nittany Division Manager Nicole Masullo. “The impact cancer has on individuals, families, and communities cannot be overstated. I’m overwhelmed by the support we have received from our stores and customers in all the communities we serve. I cannot thank them enough.”
Outside of skin cancers, breast cancer is the most common cancer among women in the United States. It is about 30 percent (or 1 in 3) of all new female cancers each year, according to cancer.org. With knowledge of that fact, MinitMart is dedicated to supporting the American Cancer Society as it continues its world-class mission as the “only organization working to improve the lives of people with cancer and their families through advocacy, research, and patient support, to ensure everyone has an opportunity to prevent, detect, treat, and survive cancer.”
